When the head lowers and the probe triggers, the nozzle isn't actually touching the bed, it's actually above the bed at some other height. THIS is the z_offset. You're telling the printer that when it trips, the nozzle is actually Xmm above the bed. WebHowever, with a BLTouch the offset is negative. So I have to be able to move below 0. The problem appears to be that klipper is treating where the probe is triggering as 0. But the very purpose of calibrating the z offset is to determine how high off the bed the nozzle is when the probe triggers. This is a catch-22.
