If it is wheel of tyre imbalance, you'll feel vibrations at higher speed but it won't pull you in either direction. Check your wheel alignment in particular your Toe alignment. As some have commented, the floaty feeling, even, "rear feels like it shifts from side to side slowly", could all be from lack of adequate aero. Mustangs are inherently light in the rear and at high speeds that's amplified. WebDec 18, 2004 · First, yes, mixing tires can have a hand in making the car feel 'floaty' at speeds. When the tires have variation in the stiffness of the sidewall construction, and the compound is *NEW* (as you said your Toyo's are), the tires will have a slightly 'floaty' feel.
